For most fly-in travellers, hiring wins on money and logistics. For tourers, ferrying the van is part of the adventure. Here's the honest comparison.

Ibiza's campervan hire market is small and personal — three operators, no faceless mega-chains. All are small enough to know the island's campsites by name, which matters more here than anywhere.

📋 The booking order

1. Book campsite pitches (both bases).
2. Jun–Sep: accredit via ibizacircular.es.
3. Book the ferry with vehicle space.
4. Book hire van if flying in.

💡 Hire vs ferry, quickly

One-week fly-in trip: hiring (≈ €560–910) usually beats ferry return (≈ €400–700) plus the hassle — and you skip the summer entry paperwork entirely, though you still need campsite bookings. Multi-week European tours: the ferry earns its keep.

Insurance & paperwork

Island hire vans come fully insured (check excesses). If you ferry your own, confirm breakdown cover abroad and that your insurer covers ferry transport. Driving licence rules follow the standard EU/Spain requirements — check yours before booking.
